It is hard to argue with how green it is to commute to a library. I am lucky enough to have one within a jog's distance (and yes, I do get funny looks when I am jogging with books in my hands... usually I bring a backpack) I do love the no late fee part (I probably have around $10 in late fees right now at the library...) and that they always have the books in stock. I have waited a couple of months before for a book.

It definitely is greener than buying the book new on Amazon! All about perspective...

True. I try to drive as little as possible-our transit system is pretty good and I am one bus trip away from the central library, as well as a pretty good branch. It would definitely be "greener" for me to take the trip to the library instead of having them delivered.

Depends on how you look at it. If you drive to the library a few times of the week that isn't so green, compared to having several books shipped once every three months.

But...how is this green? When you depend on the item being shipped to you, it reduces it's appeal-to me, anyway.
