Good suggestion. I’ve used a Britta filter for years, not because our tap water isn’t safe, but because it tastes a bit like dirt. :) But for travel your Back to the Tap sounds like a great idea. If you are handy at all, I really recommend putting an inline filter in your kitchen sink. They have kits at home depot or lowe's that are relatively inexpensive, and require only a tubing cutter and screwdriver to install.
