We recently took our 2 munchkins on their first camping trip. I knew my son would enjoy it, but I wasn't so sure about my daughter. My little "princess" can't stand getting dirty, I was amazed when she LOVED every bit of it! Don't underestimate you children or what they might like. Kids and nature go together perfectly. When I was single I went almost every weekend during the summer. I loved the challenge of streamlining the number of items I brought. I stopped after my first son learned to walk, though. I found it far too stressful to take a wandering toddler camping because camping and hiking are exhausting activities, and with a toddler, and no containment, you always have to be on alert. We settled for just hiking locally in the interim. I'm glad we will be able to get back out there soon, though, and introduce our kids to the thrill of living (even for a night) in the great outdoors. I'm glad to know of Outdoor Baby.
