Halloween happens to be my daughter’s favorite holiday – and she’s now 18! We always make homemade treats for the house (cookies, cupcakes), decorate (with the same ghosts and witches we’ve had for years), and wear masks or funny clothes (recycled, of course). It’s free of the stress of gift-giving and lots of fun.

Love the idea to give out tattoos and stickers along with the candy – at least there’s another choice there. I am with you about keeping the magic of the holiday, too! My favorite scores at rummage sales are the Halloween costumes for $1 in August…but I am afflicted also with the “I don’t really know how to sew but I love handmade costumes’ gene.
