Twinkle to a minimum -- I like that! Most of us our guilty of putting up too many lights and worse, buying new christmas decorations. We should really go minimalist this time...after all,the spirit of christmas is in the giving and sharing. Not in the twinkling. =)

Most of my outdoor decorations aren't lights. The few lights I do have ( 2 strings) I put on timers. They come on a dusk and stay on for 6 hours. The small incandescent string of lights is around the front. I added a string of LED's along the front of the house. Most years if I do lights it's a halogen spotlight on the greenery on the porch, again on a timer.

I love the idea of less is more! I think it would be fun to have the kids pick out a few toys (still like new) and donate them to kids in need! Just another way to recycle and make someone else have a happy holiday season!
