Healthy Green Moms: She is Back

Healthy Green Moms: She is Back

This Tuesday’s shout out goes to my good friend Monica of Healthy Green Moms. Boy have I missed her and her wellmonica written, thought provoking posts. Monica and I launched Organic Baby Products 101 months ago, redesigned the website, added content for roughly $250-$300 and after 3 months decided to sell the website because Monica was going to have a baby and she wanted her focus to be on her home birth and being at home with the babies. We actually ended up flipping the website and made a nice profit for only a few months of work. We had regular phone chats, deep conversations and became great friends and now she is back to writing on her blog and I could not be happier.

child blowing noseIt seems like Monica was reading my mind when she wrote about H1N1 and her personal experience and thoughts on this season’s flu pandemic. I loved her tips and it just so happens I was considering writing a similar post on things I am doing to prevent the flu this season and my own personal thoughts but it’s best to just point you to Healthy Green Moms. She puts everything so nicely and again makes me think twice and do some personal reflection. My son’s school is just starting to see their numbers rise with absences and that’s beginning to make me worry. We regularly clean our toothbrushes with hydrogen peroxide, clean all the knobs, remotes, keyboards, toys and phones with For My Kids, we wash our hands, eat healthy and have two air filters in our home – but is that enough to protect us? It’s easy to worry, panic and yes not know the right answer! Our local doctor’s office does not even have the flu vaccination and they’re fielding everything through the Health Department who is pointing me to the CDC. Naturally, I worry but Monica’s post has made me feel better.

I’m wondering, what are you going to do this year? Get the flu shot and the H1N1 vaccination? Both?

  • Thank you so much for the shout out. I have missed blogging and the community. Babymooning has been rewarding (and still is) but I can’t tell you how many times I just wanted to get something of my chest and blog…but no time to collect my thoughts. Instead I’ve got notepad papers littered all over my desk. Such is baby life right?!

I’m actually lucky right now because HGM nearly blew up just as I began posting again. Seriously, I’m relieved we got it back with only a few glitches to iron out.

Thank you for the nice welcome back, it means the world to me.
