How Do You Measure A Year?

I’m feeling a little sad that 2011 is already coming to an end. It has gone so quickly and when I look at my children I see just how quickly things moving. How quickly they are growing, maturing and becoming wonderful people.

This last year has consisted of 525,600 minutes of highs and lows. Minutes filled with laughter, tears, hugs, joy and memories that I’ve captured with my phone.

Yes, my phone.

My Droid Bionic and the 8.0MP camera and my older Droid Incredible have captured nearly 1300 photos from 2011. I cannot measure a year by anything but love and when I look at my photos I see love. I see laughter, experiences and memories that I’ll cherish forever.

Here are a few moments I’ll cherish forever from 2011…

Watching my daughter learn to ice skate.
Seeing how happy my sister was to meet Melissa Peterman.
Seeing my son off to camp for the first time.
Conquering my fear or at least having fun trying too!
Driving over the Gold Gate Bridge for the first time.
Reading to my daughter the book I wrote {My Mommy is a Blogger}.
Watching a butterfly land on my son’s finger and see his excitement was amazing.
Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan after a bike ride with the kids, happy but exhausted and the sunset completed our evening.

2011 was full of these moments and though I’m sad that it has gone by so quickly I’m looking forward to 525,600 minutes of 2012 and capturing as many of them as possible with but of course…my Droid Bionic phone/camera!
