How Much Water Does YOUR Household Consume?

Do you know how much water you consume in a day, or a week, even a year? Thanks to the Underwriters Laboratories I do and it’s not good. According to Underwriters Laboratories (UL) the average household uses about 400 gallons of water each day. Underwriters Laboratories is hoping to help consumers determine how much water they use and provide them with helpful tips on how to cut back on unnecessary water usage.

The UL wants to help consumers determine their consumption of water by providing them with the “SAVE YOUR WATER CONSUMPTION CALCULATOR”. This calculator will determine the consumer’s daily, weekly, and annual consumption by participating in an interactive virtual home walk-through. UL encourages consumers to pledge to reduce their household usage and for each of the first 15,000 pledges received they will donate one dollar to Water for People, an international organization committed to the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities and health and hygiene education programs. I pledged to reduce my consumption by 5% and hopefully that number grows. Make a pledge and reduce your consumption.
