I Milked a Cow

E-MEALZ EASY AND DELICIOUS DINNER RECIPESThe last day of our vacation, it was over cast and cool so we decided that since the we flew hours down to Florida we might as well milk a cow. That makes sense, right? We apparently don’t have cows or farm animals in Michigan. We dropped a load of money to take the kids to a petting zoo that actually was a great deal of fun and in my opinion was more enjoyable than Disney for the kids. It was hands on and so hands on that this green mom milked a cow!

I definitely think they could incorporate recycling a lot more into their park systems. I think they could make a huge difference with the amount of people passing through their turnstiles if they chose to.

Putting a movie like this out and making an effort to reach their audience with a “we’re trying” message is a step they’re making that’s positive.

Disney could use only flourescent bulbs at all their resorts. They do grow food on site that they use at their restaurants.

    looks great

What I like is that they are doing this film! , it is purposeful and a way to reach out. I think they can make films that areproduced oneco friendly film and use eco friendly props and sets when they make a movie.

Would love to see Disney make LESS silly junky stuff.. I understand that it appeals to young kids but some of the stuff they make is really just plastic junk that ends up in the garbage… However, for as much as I dislike that; they do some pretty good stuff also.. Like the new movies that they are doing.. Plus, while it is also for money, all the animals they have at the animal kingdom…

I think Walt Disney World can reduce their carbon footprint by replacing their existing transportation busses with hybrid or biodiesel busses.

    Great pictures. Great awareness!

on the fake coral reefs they are now using recycled glass sprayed on with an organic epoxy instead of paint.

It would be pretty impressive if they could take Disneyland and Disneyworld “off the grid”. I remember your post awhile ago about watching them clean the floor with stinky toxic cleaner that would have given your daughter and asthma attack. If they could just eliminate those, I’d be slightly more impressed.

I would imagine that the Disney parks produce such massive amounts of garbage every day. Disney could probably improve their efforts at reducing and recycling. I don’t recall seeing many recycling bins at the parks. Disney should make their packaging uniform and recyclable, and should place recycling receptacles beside every garbage can.

Disney could do an awful lot to reduce waste in their parks. I love that they’re getting people interested in the environment through shows like this!

I think they do a good job using home grown veggies in their restaurants. I’d like to see them offer more opportunities for patrons to recycle and more eco friendly plants instead of other types of shade

  • Kelly F

It would be awesome if Disney followed suit with what Atlanta, Georgia has done and turn their parks into waste free zones. I am sure so much food and other products are wasted each year at the parks!

I do like that they sell soda in the refillable cups at Disneyland but I think they could do more about everything else being so one-time-use.

I don’t know why my comment went to another post.. trying again..

I do like that they sell soda in the refillable cups at Disneyland but I think they could do more about everything else being so one-time-use.

I think it’s pretty laughable that they can do that but it doesn’t hurt to try :)

Thanks for the giveaway! I like that Disney offers re-fillable drinks at their parks. I think they should (if they aren’t already) use alternate sources of energy where possible.

One thing that I think that Disney could do to reduce there carbon footprint is add more organic products to there parks. I like that at there movies are showing environmental issues like in the movie Wall-E.

Disney can reduce their carbon footprint by replacing any kind of disposable packaging for food with one that can be reused at their theme parks.

I like that they are making society more aware of the problem.

    Great prize – thank you.

    ty 4 the awesome giveaway:)

Disney is becoming green by doing things like making clothing out of recycled water bottles for the Disney Stores. However, all this clothing says stuff about going green only and most doesn’t include some of the characters that children love. They should make everything green. All the stuffed toys, costumes, etc, the best sellers. Odds are the green themed shirts won’t sell as well as character shirts, no matter how many of us parents want it too. It’s a matter of the kid looking around in the store and seeing their favorite character. Disney has needed help in the marketing area for some time. They have focused on quantity instead of quality, even though they have some great ideas! I would love to win this, as I would love to see Disney make a come back in a big green way.

Disney should buy up land to use as forest preserves.

I feel Disney can reduce their carbon footprint by making their rides run on biodiesel or solar power. I like how they are being earth friendly by getting out the message of preserving the environment with this movie.

  • bridget

Disney could be more earth-friendly by offering more vegetarian options in their parks. I think what they are trying to do with educational programming about nature can only be good for kids.

  • Zoey

I love the fact that Disney is actively seeking ways to be more eco-friendly, however, I think that they could do more to make their theme parks green!

There’s a lot of doubt surrounding which methods/products are truly sustainable and which are just green washing. It’s good to hold Disney’s feet to the fire.
