I really like the Light Patrol! That is a great way to get kids involved!

But I have a question about the cold washing. I worry about germs being killed. I was taught that hot water wash was best for undies and such. What are your thoughts on this?

I've been doing cold water wash for such a long time. Our electricity bills are 20-30 dollars a month cheaper. I also hang quite a bit of the laundry outside to dry - depending on the humidity, of course, in southern Louisiana they might never dry!

I'll definitely have the check out the book. I would love to see how to build the green birdhouse. DS would LOVE that.

Love some of these ideas! There's a ton out there, and it's amazing how non-intimidating some of it can be. Every bit makes a difference!

That is really cool how eco-friendly you and your family seems to be. The tips you shared I am sure are helpful and seem really easy. It reminds me of an story I just read about a guy from KC who is kind of the god father of the green building movement. Here is a link to it...www.pitch.com.

I would love to have more information of going green ideas. This book sounds like it has them along with ivolving your children. I am really interested in the fundraising section since we are having a bake sale this fall at our local town event to support the town food bank. Thank you Sommer!
