Great post! I got some really useful ideas.

My kids LOVE whole wheat couscous. Their favourite is when I add frozen peas and carrots, cinnamon, curry, cumin and raisins to couscous that is made with broth rather than water. It only takes about 5 minutes and I often pack it in a thermos for my daughter's lunch.

I love this article. Is there any suggestions for healthy snacks to keep in the car or purse or cupboard for those days your running out the door and someone says "i'm hungry"?

I agree with Anisa about the diced tomatoes. I also like to have couscous because it cooks so fast and tofu because I can use it with almost anything.

I keep a lot of what's on your list, but I would add a few cans of organic diced tomatoes (I like Muir Glen or the local brand... Sunflower Farmer's Market) in place of the pasta sauce. It's so easy to turn canned tomatoes into pasta sauce, plus they are great for chilli and a HUGE variety of other meals.

We couldn't live without our constant supply of garlic, extra virgin oilive oil and balsamic vinegar (we like Paul Newman's). Additionally, we keep organic steel cut oats, organic quinoa, and organic brown rice on hand.
