Packing Some Extra Power into my Smoothie

Yesterday I admitted that I packed on a few pounds over the winter. {Hang head in shame!}  Nothing I am proud to admit but I’m not a liar and can hide stuff from anyone so I just felt better putting it out there. With that being said I’m back on the Shaklee 180™ smoothie bandwagon because I know it works for me and I feel so much better when I have a regular smoothie each day.

To Die for Smoothie

I’ve written about my love for smoothies in the past and shared a new favorite smoothie recipe with you recently using Stonyfield Organic Greek yogurt and flax seed to my smoothie – an extra pick me up to keep me powered throughout the busy work day! What I’ve neglected to share is why I love adding yogurt to my smoothie.

I’m personally not a milk fan.

There I said it.

I drink milk and I’ll add it to my oatmeal or cereal but really I’d rather have a yogurt. I don’t know why and it isn’t anything personal to the cows, I just don’t really like their milk. No offense.

Life is busy so adding an extra punch to my smoothie helps fill me up and gives me some extra energy and I need as much of that as possible! Did you know that there are 15 grams of protein in a cup of the Stonyfield Organic Greek yogurt? This helps my smoothie go the extra mile! And I know I need the calcium for my bones because I don’t want to be all shriveled up before I hit 40. When I add a cup of the Stonyfield Organic Greek yogurt to my smoothie I’m getting extra protein to help me stay full longer but I’m also having my dose of dairy because I just don’t consume milk or cheese like I probably should. Plus, I love how it makes my smoothie thicker.
