Sommer,

I look forward to receiving the book as well as reading it. I've been able to set aside some of the board and other children's books I've been reading to my children and have started reading some books w/more adult content during my quiet time. This will be a nice addition to my stash and I'm sure a helpful reminder of how easy it really is to make more environmentally conscious decisions. I'm also looking forward to maybe using some of the craft ideas w/my children in school.

I'm wrapping all my gifts in either the fabric that I wrapped them in last year (for immediate family that will return the fabric) or in recycled paper from home like newspaper or paper bags. This would be a great stocking stuffer for myself or for my MIL so that maybe she wouldn't expose my DD to some of the chemicals that she does.

I have started making my own reusable fabric gift wrap, and plan on using it to wrap all of the gifts I give this season.

We're trying to move away from or at least reduce paper towel use. I will be making cloth napkins for the holidays as well as ones for everyday use. This book sounds like, w/it's easy tips, that it may be a great stocking stuffer because it might motivate someone who has been putting off greening their lives because they think it's too difficult.

My daughters have learned that if they want something (like an American Girl doll which started this routine) then they do their own bottle drive. They take back our cans/bottles, ask the neighbors for theirs and keep the money to save up for what they want. The doll took 5 months, but she earned it! Now if they spot a can in a garbage somewhere, they are bummed that it is not being recycled.
