I wish I could explain why men gravitate towards beer and power tools while women gravitate towards purses and shoes but some things are unexplainable, so I will stick to what women like and talk to you about shoes. Shoes are an important accessory to an outfit and foundation for your body. Since shoes play such an important role in everyday life they should also play an important role in renewing the environment.
Naya, a company that makes earth conscious shoes believes that shoes should beautiful on your feet, soft on your step and gentle on the Environment. Naya’s shoe collections is beautiful, sophisticated, feminine, and best of all Naya works hard at being earth friendly. Naya states that throughout their design process they choose earth-friendly materials whenever possible and their styles include: vegetable-tanned leathers and linings, natural or recycled content fabrics, heels made from bamboo, foot beds containing natural cork, out soles containing natural materials, and water based cements. Naya also uses 80% recycled paper pulp for their shoe boxes as well as reusable shoe bags and shoe forms made with recycled PET. I can’t testify to the comfort of Naya shoes because I’ve never worn them but because of their efforts to work hard at helping the environment while keeping women happy I would definitely consider buying a pair.
I’m not done! Naya has partnered up with Soles4Souls to promote a shoe recycling initiative. Gently worn shoes are donated to people in need in over 127 countries; every 7 seconds a new pair of shoes is distributed. All you have to do is box up your gently worn shoes, fill out a simple form, attach the label provided and send your package. Other contributors such as shoes.com will provide you with a $20 coupon off an $80 or more purchase for donating. Soles4Souls and Naya are helping those in need while contributing to the health of the environment. According to Soles4Souls last year alone Americans discarded more than 300 million pairs of shoes. When these shoes break down in our landfills the toxic glue that holds the shoes together can leak into our water supply and atmosphere. Why not help others while helping the environment. Thanks Naya and Soles4Souls. I have several pairs I can donate today, do you?
