Actually we went to a dude ranch about 5 hours from home after Christmas this year - I loved it. Kids loved it. Hubby not so much. I don't know if I'm a wimp, but traveling with small children is so hard - I usually end up wishing we were home, with our own kitchen, their own bedrooms... you get the idea. Soon the children will be old enough that vacations will be fun... in the meantime... a vacation for me is when my husband goes away for work.
