I remember some of the things I used to be afraid of as a child that I would hear my parents talking about. They probably never even knew I heard! Thanks for this, its a great reminder.

I completely agree with you. I have little ones (3 & 1) so they are not picking up on all of the fear-mongering that is going on. But it’s still ridiculous. My pediatrician told me this morning that they are swamped because parents are panicking when their child develops a cold and they go rushing in to the doctor (no doubt exposing their child with a somewhat compromised immune system to the germs of the sick kids at the doctor’s office). We were just there for a well-child check and it was absolutely packed.

The woman in the top photo appears to have been battered, and specifically punched in the eye by Swine Flu. Is this part of the risk we’re facing with this new virus? If so, perhaps martial arts would be the best collective community defense against this new strain.
