To Mama with Love

Mother’s day is this weekend and what better way to show your mama you care then to create a heart space for her on tomamawithlove.org.

Organic Beauty Now has teamed up with Epic Change, the masterminds behind Tweetsgiving to put together a very special Mother’s Day campaign called “To Mama With Love.”

This campaign harnesses the power of Twitter and blogs to honor moms across the globe, and raise funds for one remarkable mama to change the world. Organic Beauty Now hopes to raise $50,000 in just 10 days to fund a home for 50 children in Mama Lucy’s village in Tanzania. The contest starts April 29th and ends May 9th, 2010.

Who is Mama Lucy? Mama Lucy is an amazing woman that mothers and cares for hundreds of children. Mama Lucy lives in a village in Arusha, Tanzania who did not have a good school. Mama took action and started Shepherd Junior School in 2003 with money she raised from a small chicken farm. She began with only 10 students. With the help of Epic Change she now serves more then 411 kids and her school is ranked #2 in her district of 118 schools. With your help 50 children in Mama Lucy’s village will have a home.

Want to help? Want to honor your mama? Here’s how it works

•Create a heartspace on tomamawithlove.org to show a mama your love, and donate $20 or more in her honor. You can include photo, video, writing, and artwork.

•Send out a link to the heart space you created.

•Organic Beauty Now will donate $1 for every tweet that mentions #tomamawithlove up to $2000 to fund the first room in the children’s home.

•Organic Beauty Now will give away 5 gift cards worth $50 each. Anyone that follows @organicbeauties on Twitter during the campaign will be entered to win.
