With the economy right now it's indeed bad but with Obama in office and the optimism behind him to remedy this, people are once again spending money.

In regards to Disneyland (at least the one I grew up near in Anaheim, CA) once Isner took over the standards dropped, they have a worse safety record then the two other local parks 6 Flags Magic Mountain and Knotts Berry Farm. Also the price is $70 per person $65 with local resident discount. Where as the other two parks are half of that price to get in.

In regards to Sea World they are still operational because they try to treat their animals the best they can and part of that is by keeping the environment around them clean too.

I'm not positive about this but my guess is the soap does NOT contain triclosan. It would likely wreck havoc on the delicate water balance issues for the animals. I have a little bit of experience in aquarium type parks and the ones I was at did not use triclosan soaps. The funny part about those hand washing stations is that they are designed to keep the animals safe from children's germs, not the other way around.

My husband and I are annual passholders and visit Disney World several times a year. We've noticed improvements recently in their green efforts. The Disney resorts (even the Value ones), have recycling bins in each room. They also don't replace your towels on a daily basis. We have a 5-day camping cooler that we pack up with drinks and essentials so we can get breakfast or late night snacks in the room. I usually pack a toaster and a set of plates and silverware.

In the parks, they have started to improve their food offerings. I usually order the kid's meals because I can choose carrots and grapes instead of french fries. Regular meals also have a choice of french fries or carrots. My husband and I have enjoyed a few great salads and veggie sandwiches. We usually carry our CamelBak during the sweltering months, and fill it up with water from the room. It just doesn't make sense to suck down a ton of water from plastic bottles.

The Living Land at Epcot is an awesome greenhouse and small fishery that has a boat ride running through it. Disney uses many of the food products in there in restaurants on the property.

I know that there are many other things about Disney that aren't green, but I think they are incrementally making improvements that will benefit in the long run. It will always be our vacation destination of choice, and we try as a family to lessen our impact while we are there. It helps us save money too.
