Carla, I love salad with dinner but usually my husband loads it with not so good stuff.

Does your family do greens? If so, this is a great time for hearty soups and stews. Right now, I've got a thing for swiss chard. We had a yummy pasta with chard last week and this week, I've got something on the menu that features chard as a side dish. Also, kale is awesome and I have a recipe from a certain annoying tv chef that made for good freezing. Also, carrots, potatoes, and sweet potatoes are in season and any of them can be made into "oven fries" in a pinch as well as mashed.

Great ideas! I'm always looking for tips to make dinnertime at home a little easier. There are only two of us (adults) but we have different dietary needs and tastes. Sometimes, the only thing we have in common at the dinner table is a salad!

Yum! looks delish! thanks for the recipe. If you like Indian food, I highly recommend Madhur Jaffrey, altho most of them are pretty time consuming. One simple dish I love to make is lentils with garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, and cilantro. If you make it right about now you can catch both potatoes and tomatoes in our neck of the woods.
