I know vacuums. I’m a mom and what mom doesn’t clean up dirt on a continual basis? I’ve been in the market for a new vacuum and for me the vacuum has to go from carpet to hardwood with ease. As a green mom who cares about healthy indoor air I wanted to make sure that there were filters to catch the dust because I have a daughter who is allergic to dust mites.

When I was asked to review the Miele Twist I was reluctant because the vacuum is not bagless but after doing some thinking I realized it might be nice to have all of that dust and junk in a bag contained. I often clean my bagless vacuum and dust flies everywhere and I sneeze like crazy – it can be messy.

For the last three weeks I’ve been using my new Miele Twist vacuum, which means I‘ve used it like a zillion times and can tell you I’ve been very pleased. Here are my top 4 reasons I can highly recommend this vacuum:

  1.  It has a very wide sweep to cover a lot of space quickly and the swivel feature allows me to clean hard to reach spots with ease.
  2. There are multiple filters to catch all of the dirt and dust that often escapes vacuums. This keeps the air clean and with indoor air pollution being worse than outdoor air pollution I find this to be very important.
  3. The Miele Twist vacuum has an extra-long cord for a 54 inch cleaning reach. This makes my life so much easier!
  4. The handle has an ergonomic design with fingertip controls that allow me to go from carpet to my hardwood floor quickly and easily. I really appreciate this feature.

I really like my new Miele Twist and realize that now I’ll have invest in Miele Vacuum bags but the cost is minimal and with my daughter’s asthma I really appreciate the nine layers of filtration and self-sealing flap so the dust and dirt stain contained.  I don’t really like adding to the waste but the bag is made of environmentally friendly material and again, it helps with my daughter’s asthma so I have to weigh the pros and cons. So much dust escaped from my bagless vacuum and this is not the case with the Miele Twist.

The Miele Company has been around since 1899 so they have a very long history of making exceptional products, which makes me feel good and when I researched other consumer reviews I found most to be positive. The Miele Twist vacuum is a bit more expensive than most vacuums but you get what you pay for. I’ve been keeping a home for 10 years and this is my 4th vacuum and hopefully my last {though I’m sure I’ll review others and give you my opinion on those too}.
