Stepping on the scale once a week is never the highlight of my week. Especially when I do not see the numbers I yearn to see.  This week I have gained 2.5 pounds and I was really upset by this. I’ve been on the Cinch program and working out with CrossFit twice a week. I am proud of how far I have come and that I just show up at 5am in the morning! I must be doing something right because my jeans are loose! When I look at my overall success of losing 24.5 inches total and 33 pounds as of today – I should be over the moon delighted with my success.  And I am but I am ready to step it up and not call it good enough. I am on a journey and it is just beginning.

Game Change

In September my #cinchspiration goal was to lose weight and fit into my size 10 skinny jeans. I am happy to say I’m there and very proud of myself. I am not done. Just because I have achieved one goal does not mean I cannot have another goal and continue to raise the bar for myself.

My new #cinchspiration goal relates not to the number on the scale {admittedly I want this to continue to go down} or what size jeans I wear {I do have a number I’d like to see} but rather my own physical fitness achievement. Walking into CrossFit is a huge step in the right direction for me. Each workout is scaled because I am not able to do what others in the class can do –yet. Just today my coach sat down next to me as sweat dripped from my forehead and I felt dizzy doing 10 push drops, 10 sit-ups and 10 squats for a repetition of 5 times {the WOD was 10 times}. After doing the 20 minutes warm-up and then the WOD {work out of the day} I was spent. He saw this but he also saw that I was disappointed that others were done with repetitions of 10 in the same time it took me to do 5.  It was encouraging to hear that someone saw how hard I was trying and to tell me that my efforts and hard work will pay off, they are paying off and that he is seeing improvement. I teared up but nobody could tell because of the sweat in their eyes!

Thanks coach Phil.

My Competition

I am not competing with anyone but myself. I’m trying to improve ME. Work at MY level and listen to what my body is telling me. I know myself and the encouragement and support helps but at the end of the day it is up to me. Which is why I decided to not just do CrossFit today but also a  2.5 mile walk with hills in the cold weather. I know I can do more. I know I can reach my goals and I have confident that if YOU set your mind to it YOU can also reach your #cinchspiraiton goal – whatever it may be!
