With the hustle and bustle of every day life it can be really hard to eat organic and healthy but the hardest time I have is with the snacks. If your on the road chances are you aren’t going to stop at your local gas station and find something organic and healthy to stick in you or your kids mouth. I was given the chance to try Pure Organics bars and I took that opportunity for that exact reason. I’m a busy mom like many others and I don’t always have time to make my daughter a healthy snack between running to daycare, work, ice skating, swimming, and other events, so I thought this would be a good fit.
Pure Organics has 6 flavors to sample from and my daughter and I tried them all <insert us rubbing our bellies>!
Chocolate Brownie– Sounded like it was going to be my favorite but I was disappointed. I was expecting nothing less then a tasty brownie flavor. The bar tasted fruity and kind of bitter like dark chocolate, not at all like a brownie.
Wild Blueberry– I love blueberries but wasn’t eager to try this one but I’m glad I did. I really liked the flavor and texture of this bar. The flavor wasn’t over bearing and I loved that it wasn’t seedy or grainy.
Cherry Cashew– I’m not a huge fan of cherries but I know they’re healthy so I gave it a try and it was good. Much like the blueberry the flavor wasn’t over powering but had just enough cherry and cashew mixed together.
Apple Cinnamon– I was really excited to try this bar because I love the apple and cinnamon combination. Once again I was satisfied, it was really good. The apple part of the bar wasn’t too tart and the cinnamon gave it a nice sweet sugary taste.
Cranberry Orange– Truth is this didn’t sound appetizing at all to me but it ended up being my favorite. I like cranberries and I like oranges but to combine them into a bar form didn’t sound good. I was pleasantly surprised, it was delicious! The orange gave it tang and the cranberry made it sweet, Yummy!
Trail Mix– The trail mix was a good combination of sweet, salty, and chewy but just not my favorite.
I thought for sure that the trail mix and the chocolate brownie would be my favorite and they were my least favorite. It’s not because they tasted terrible it’s because my taste buds jumped out of it’s comfort zone and tried other flavors that they enjoyed more. My daughter’s favorite flavor is blueberry. Not only do I like that they taste good but they’re healthy too. The Pure Organics bars are made with organic ingredients, are gluten free, vegan, raw, and kosher. The bars contain omega-3s, fiber, and protein so while it’s not a meal it’s a great alternative for a snack when I’m too busy to make one.
