Animal ingredients are often used to make wine. I bet you did not know that some wine maker’s use a gelatin extract from boiled cow’s or pigs hooves or that egg whites or milk protein might be used. These animal products are often used in the fining or filtration process but if you’re a vegan you might be turned off by this process and want a wine that is made without any animal products.
Luckily there is The Vegan Vine a line of wine that is made entirely without any animal products and I assure you it tastes fabulous! Produced and grown by Clos LaChance Winery located in the Northern Central Coast of California by husband and wife teams that work side-by-side with their two daughters. The vineyard is Certified Sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrower’s Alliance to boot!
An affordable wine with robust and rich flavors that makes your taste buds think you are drinking something aged and expensive! I had the privilege to sample the Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Wine Blend and Sauvignon Blanc. All of which I thoroughly enjoyed and can recommend. I think my favorite was the Red Wine Blend, I loved the smell and the hint of cedar and vanilla – yummy! The wines are available in some stores and can be ordered by calling 1-800-ITS-WINE. This would make a lovely Christmas gift because it’s never too early to start thinking about holiday gift giving!
