I don’t know about you but bugs love me. Every time we go mushroom hunting, sit on the deck, take a walk in the woods or any other outdoor adventure I’m the main course for mosquitoes. I have had to drape myself in mosquito netting while walking through the woods; it’s not an attractive look. I’ve tried bathing in scent free soap and not bathing at all (yuck), nothing works. I love the outdoors but can’t stand being eaten alive.
I was given the opportunity to try Buzz Away Extreme, a mosquito, fly, tick, fleas and gnats repellant. I’ve had the product for about a month but haven’t had a lot of opportunity to use it; this year hasn’t been bad in respect to mosquitoes. About a week ago I had to get out the ammo (Buzz Away Extreme). I was sitting on the deck with my husband, dad, and daughter. They were all sitting there comfortably while I looked like I had ants in my pants. I was swatting like a mad man and itching the already bitten peaces of flesh. I ran in side and grabbed the Buzz Away. I franticly sprayed myself from head to toe and sat down to see the results. Everyone sat there watching to see what would happen and luckily NOTHING happened. I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t get bit again.
Not only did Buzz Away keep the buzzers away from me but it’s safe and non toxic. The product contains Soybean Oil, Geranium Oil, Castor Oil, Purified Water, Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Lecithin, Sodium Bicarbonate, Benzoic Acid. In a blend of Essential Oils of Wintergreen, Citronella, Cedarwood, Peppermint, and Lemongrass. My husband didn’t care for the smell, he thought it smelled a lot like citronella but I didn’t mind it. I would rather smell like citronella then be eaten alive.
Tests were conducted on the product in order to prove the effectiveness and it was found that the Spray Insect Repellent provided 99.3% protection after one hour, 91.6% protection at two hours and 89.2% protection at 3 hours. The performance is similar to that of low concentration DEET-based products.
I’m looking forward to trying it out during mushroom hunting season. I’m throwing away the sexy mosquito netting and getting out the Buzz Away. What do you use to keep those bugs away?
Why not? Great tips for free!
