As a past preschool teacher I always LOVED teaching the children about  Earth Day. It was so much fun celebrating this special day with a week long theme. It was fun to have the children make recycled craft projects, pick trash up in a local park, visit the recycling station and experiment with natural products like baking soda and vinegar. It wasn’t always so easy to find books for preschool aged students but with “green” being so popular it has gotten a little easier.

Here are a few of my all-time favorite reads for young children for Earth Day or any day reading:

  1. As a family we are going down to the river valley in our city and helping to do spring cleanup-this is something we do every year.

  2. We will celebrate earth day by getting out and working on our organic herb/veggie garden in our backyard!
