Ingredients
  • 1 ½ lbs. Brussel Sprouts halved
  • 1 ½ tsp. Garlic
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • ⅛ c. Flour
  • 1 c. Half and Half
  • 6 oz. Butterkäse cheese shredded
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Place your halved Brussel sprouts into a single layer in a 9 x 13-casserole dish.
  3. Over medium high heat, melt your butter in a saucepan.
  4. Once the butter has melted, add in the garlic and stir constantly for 30 seconds.
  5. Add in the flour and stir or whisk to combine well. Cook over medium high heat for 1 minute.
  6. Slowly whisk in the half-and-half and continue stirring for an additional 1 minute. Add salt to taste.
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in ¾ of your shredded cheese. Mix well until the cheese has melted and incorporated completely.
  8. Pour the cheese sauce mixture over the Brussel sprouts in your casserole dish, and stir lightly to coat them well.
  9. Top the Brussel sprouts with the remaining shredded cheese and bake for 30 minutes. You can bake a bit longer if you like, depending on your preferred level of doneness for the Brussel sprouts.
