When it comes to gift giving, I like to give gifts that are thoughtful and useful. Even though Christmas is behind us, I’m continually looking, buying and putting together gifts for people. Gifts to say thank you, birthday gifts, end of the school year gifts for teachers, housewarming gifts, anniversary gifts and the list goes on. My grandmother always had a gift cupboard and when an occasion arose, she would go to her cupboard and pull out a gift. Now, I have a gift closet. If I find something on sale that I think someone would like, I buy it and add it to my closet. I’m always prepared with wedding gift, a new baby arriving and a kid’s birthday party. My grandma taught me well!
One gift that I always keep on hand is an emergency lighting kit. Yes, you read that correctly, an emergency lighting kit. This is a perfect, unique, thoughtful and useful gift for a college student moving into their first apartment, a housewarming gift or even a wedding shower gift. When the power goes out the gift recipient will appreciate this gift, that’s a promise. I’ve appreciated this kit for my own use when the power has gone out.
