Green Clean Schools, started in 2006 and works on helping schools ditch the chemicals and clean safe.  I love it and so should you!  Too many schools have contracts with this company or that company and if they buy cleaning supplies from a particular company, they might get a discount on paper supplies. I learned this last fall after approaching our local school district, the head custodian who does the ordering informed me that the products they use are “greener” but not necessarily “green”.  The local paper said the district was going green with their cleaning but it was a misrepresentation.  He told me, to switch companies and go with a true green clean, they would lose the savings on paper products and they use too many paper products to have this happen. Schools are on tight budgets and money talks was basically the sentiment on got, however, the district was attempting to be more earth friendly and safer. A plus but Green Clean Schools can take districts, childcare centers or small private schools to the next level.

Green Clean Schools offers the training, support, and education and makes recommendations that school districts can’t afford to research and find themselves.  Something exciting is taking place this summer that is free and takes the nation wide campaign to the next level:

American School & University, the Green Clean Network, and Healthy Schools Campaign are pleased to announce a summer series of free green cleaning webinars that will help your school begin a green cleaning program or take your green cleaning to the next level.

All webinars include expert insight and practical advice from a highly-regarded panel of green cleaning leaders including Steve Ashkin of the Ashkin Group LLC, Healthy Schools Campaign Deputy Director Mark Bishop, and award-winning facilities managers from schools recognized in the first annual Green Cleaning in Schools awards.

Again it is free and but there is limited registration. I suggest that all of us with children in public or private schools call or email this information to administrators and Parent Teacher Organizations. It may be summer vacation but planning takes place now and before the children are back in schools lets have a plan to green the schools cleaning!

Why not? Great tips for free!
