Pretend Makeup lip balm reviews

My name is Haley and I’m a chapstick/lip balm addict.  I have lip balm in all of my coat pockets, two in my purse, one in my car, and one at work.  I can’t help myself!!  I got the opportunity to review 5 different lip balms, my lips were in heaven. Of course, my sister the Green and Clean Mom was lecturing me on what was safe and not safe!

I reviewed Moms like me, e.l.f. lip shine for eyes lips and face, Yes To Carrots lip gloss and Chap Stick, and Pure Yes 10 Carrot lip balmSoftlips.  My lips liked all of them but my preference was a combination of Yes To Carrots lip gloss and chapstick.  Lip gloss tends to dry my lips out so the combination of the two really worked well.  I liked the Yes To Carrots chapstick because it was minty and made my lips feel tingly and medicated.

elfThe e.l.f. lip, eye, and face shine was a nice shade of pink but I didn’t like how sticky it was and it didn’t look good on my face. It also contains Methlyparaben which scores an 8 at the Cosmetic Safety Data base. Seeing that I use chapstick so often I wouldn’t want to be consuming something or having it touch by skin on a regular basis that has such a dangerous ingredient – something I think the company and consumers should be aware of.

I tried the Pure Softlips which now comes in a 100% natural USDA certified organic option!  I really liked the peppermint feel but I am not a fan of small, skinny, tubes of lip balm; I prefer the thick tubes! According the website the Pure Honeydew won the 2008 Beauty Awards for best lip balm!  The webiste states the ingredients being:

Ingredients:
cocos nucifera (coconut) oil*, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil*, beeswax*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, flavor, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter)*, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, tocopherol [vitamin E], cucumis sativus (cucumber) seed extract*

*Certified organic

I like the fact that all of the chapstick/lip gloss/lip balm, except e.l.f., was all natural (which is why I probably wouldn’t recommend this product for others).  Knowing that I am putting natural, organic, products on my lips makes me and my lips happy.  What products do you suggest I try next because remember I’m an addict! If you have something you’d like me to try or review let me know!
