What does Valentines mean to me? Years before I met my husband it meant candy, roses and in middle school I hoped for a red carnation from a boy. It usually meant heart ache because I did not get a gooey lovely dovey card from a boy or a red carnation.

Now it means chocolate covered strawberries for my husband, a Valentine baby.

It means a celebration for him and me loving him the way he deserves.

Valentines is not a day for me to feel loved, get flowers, candy and have cupid hit me in the butt with an arrow. Nah, instead I acknowledge an important day for my husband and one I’m grateful to his mother for. A day that means his favorite cupcakes or cheese cake, dinner and the kids and I showering him with surprises – if we’re clever enough!

So what does Valentines mean to you?
