Social Media on the Sand Conference

Next week I head to Turks & Caicos for a social media conference, Social Media on the Sand. I’m beyond excited because I’ve always wanted to go to a Beaches Resort. In fact, I have their DVD and brochure and have marked it up and left it out for my husband to see. He never took the hint. Which is why, when I was invited to attend, I jumped at the opportunity.

Why do I want to go to a Beaches Resort, you might wonder? I’ll be honest; I like to take a vacation where I don’t have to worry about money, cooking, cleaning and if the kids will have fun. I like to be able to have different restaurant choices, activities, pools, beaches and the opportunity to do nothing at all, if I choose. This is exactly why the Beaches Resorts appeals to me. I can be busy, have multiple restaurant choices and if I want just lie on the beach and take a nap or read a good book.  Oh and I love the sunshine, I think I’m solar powered. The Beaches Resorts are all in sunny and warm destinations.

Work Trip & Learning Trip

This trip is a work trip because I’ll be attending the Social Media on the Sand Conference. I will, however, get to experience the resort and have the opportunity to learn about the Sandals Foundation and volunteer with local school children, which I’m very, very excited about. I have a book bag full of donations! I hope to have some downtime and read a good book or two. Have a cocktail or two. And even try paddle boarding. I might even squeeze in a nap on the beach.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with you. I’m interested in learning more about the recycling on the island, how they conserve energy and what they do to protect the environment. Are there organic food choices? How do they protect the wetlands and marine life? The Sandals Foundation has a lot of reading information on what they do to protect the environment; I’ve been going through to learn more. It’s comforting to see that these resorts care about the environment but I’m looking forward to learning more, first hand. If you have any questions, please ask and I’ll do my best to find out for you and ask while I’m there.

Follow Along and Ask Questions

Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram to see what I’m experiencing and learning while on the island. I promise to be honest! You can also follow along with #BeachesMom hashtag and see what others have to say about the resort and conference. If you’re thinking of headed to a Beaches Resort or you’re on the fence, please follow along and ask questions!
