Max & Ola Eco-Friendly Baby Moccasins

Have you heard of Max & Ola’s? If you have a little one, this is a company worth checking out.

Their welcome page lured me in:

“Just as we must protect and care for our earth, so we must protect and care for our children. Whatever is safe for our environment is often safe for our children as well. At Max & Ola’s, we are dedicated to the safety and welfare of the planet, and the health and happiness of our children.”

After reading the welcome page, I had to learn more about this company and how the baby moccasins are made. The moccasins are designed in Illinois and the sheepskin leather is purchased in Colorado (unprocessed) and then sent to Poland where it is tanned using a non-toxic process. Which is amazing because if you know anything about tanning leather, chemicals are usually used to make the leather soft. After the leather is processed in Poland the moccasins are hand sewn and sent back to the United States and tested to for a non-toxic certification.

WOW!

I knew that my niece needed to have a pair of these on her pudgy little feet. She’s 11 months old and learning to walk, which makes the TOT Moccasins the perfect shoe because they have soft nubs on the bottom for grips. When the company asked me to review these, I naturally said yes. I wanted her to have soft, safe shoes that of course are adorable.

Okay, enough about what I think, what does baby Nora and her mama think of these moccasins?

“These are the softest infant baby moccasins ever! The TOT moccasins are adorable and the quality is superior.  They are so well made, it’s obvious Max & Ola pay careful attention to detail. My 11 month old is just beginning to learn to walk and has very happy feet!”

A few things to note if you are interested in buying a pair of Max & Ola’s Eco-Friendly Baby Moccasins:

  • Measure carefully and consider the width of your little ones feet. We originally ordered a size 4 but needed to exchange them for a size 5.
  • Look at the age recommendations for the different style of moccasins. Nora is beginning to walk so we choose the TOT moccasins. The other styles are for different ages.
  • Do not be deterred by the price. It is a shocker at first but you get what you pay for. Why have many shoes for baby when you can have a quality pair that is eco-friendly and non-toxic?
