Making your own DIY natural homemade beauty treatments can be easy and cheap. Often you have the supplies in your kitchen without having to buy anything special. It’s messy. It’s not as convenient as the over the counter “natural” products for tightening your skin, moisturizing and shrinking those pores. It is, however, good for you and you’ll be avoiding any “extra” unneeded ingredients being put onto your skin. Many of the products that say “natural” aren’t so natural, if you read the ingredient list. Making your own is one simple way to avoid the toxic chemicals.
Lately, I’ve been enjoying a new DIY natural facial mask. It’s a bit messy but I love how my skin feels and looks afterwards. Give it a try!
Carrot, Avocado and Honey Mask
Yes, carrots! Just combining the following ingredients and allowing the blend to sit on your clean face for 15 minutes will help tone your skin. Plus it feels phenomenal!
1/3 cup of mashed carrot (boil carrots first to mash them and let cool)
1/3 cup of mashed avocado
1/3 cup of beaten egg
2 tablespoons of honey
Stir the ingredients together well. I like to use my Ninja Ultima for a quick smooth blend but you can just mash the ingredients together. Apply to your clean face. Let it sit for 15 minutes, and then wash off with cool water.
Follow promptly with diluted lemon juice as a toner to tighten your skin and close up your pores.
