Homemade Pumpkin Syrup

Last updated:

When you love pumpkins like I do it’s easy to come up with a variety of ways to use homemade pumpkin puree. I’ve posted about how to make pumpkin spice muffins, your own pumpkin puree and pumpkin pancakes but now I’m sharing with you how I make pumpkin syrup! Served over vanilla ice cream, warm apple pie or pancakes it is simply to die for!

You Need:

1 Cup of Maple Syrup – the real stuff

¼ teaspoon of cinnamon

¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

1 ¼ cup of homemade pumpkin puree (or canned)

Pour your “real” maple syrup into a small saucepan and place over low heat. Do not bring to a boil but warm thoroughly and then add the pumpkin puree and continually stir. As you are stirring add in the cinnamon and nutmeg. Continue to stir slowly until the mixture is heated thoroughly.

Enjoy your warmed up pumpkin syrup!
