Easy to Make Smoothie Bowl

Last updated:

One of my favorite things to make the kiddos and myself for breakfast is a smoothie. Lately I have been into making smoothie bowls. They are easy to make, taste great and their prettier. Smoothie bowls take a little more time but on the weekend, it is a special treat. Here is one of my favorite combos. Enjoy! (Printable recipe is below.)

What you need (besides a blender):

Smoothie Bowls for a Healthy Breakfast

  • ½ cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 cup milk of your choice (almond, 1%, soy, etc.)
  • 3 tsp honey
  • 1 whole banana cut into slices, for garnishing
  • Chia seeds, for garnishing
  • Almond slivers, for garnishing
  • Cantaloupe, cut into flat pieces
  • Mini heart cookie cutter

Directions:

Smoothie Bowls for a Healthy Breakfast

  • In a blender, blend strawberries, pineapple, and milk. Add honey and then blend some more. Pour into bowl.
  • Garnish with banana slices, chia seeds, and almonds. My family loves the variety of nuts and seeds from my friends at NOW Foods. I often buy the almonds whole and crush them up for my smoothie bowls and oatmeal. YUM!
  • Using your cookie cutter, cut out hearts from your cantaloupe. Place carefully on top of your smoothie bowl.
